Types of 1099 Forms Reporting Farm Income
- Form 1099-PATR: Reports taxable distributions received from agricultural cooperatives. This income is reported on Line 3a of Schedule F.
- Form 1099-A: Issued for Market Assistance Loans (MALs) when crops are forfeited to the Commodity Credit Corporation (CCC). This amount is reported on Line 5b of Schedule F.
- Form 1099-MISC: May report various types of farm-related income, such as crop insurance payments (reported on Line 6a) or custom farming work (reported on Line 7).
- Form 1099-G or CCC-1099-G: Reports government agricultural program payments, including disaster payments (reported on Line 6a) and other agricultural program payments (reported on Line 4a). The taxable portion of these payments is reported on Line 4b.
- Form 1099-C: Reports canceled debt of $600 or more, which may include farm-related debt. This income is reported on Line 8 of Schedule F, if applicable.
