Where do I find this form in the OLT software?
OLT (Online Taxes) software provides easy navigation to various tax forms based on your input and return type. Below are the steps to locate specific forms within the OLT platform:
Qualified Business Income Deduction (Form 8995 / 8995-A)
- Enter your qualified business income in the software.
- Select to add this business income to Form 8995 / 8995-A.
- Access the form directly by navigating to the Federal menu on the left-hand side.
- Click on Deductions, then select Show More next to Qualified Business Income Deduction - Form 8995 / 8995-A.
Capital Gains/Losses (Schedule D and Form 8949)
- Go to the Federal menu, then click on Income.
- Select Show More under Capital Gains or Losses.
- Click Start next to Capital Gain/Loss - Schedule D, Form 8949, 1099-B, 1099-S.
- Ensure you enter a 1099-B or indicate a transaction not reported on Form 1099-B, and check Box 12 if basis is reported to the IRS for Form 8949 to generate.
Form 4868 (Extension Request)
- Create or log in to your OLT account.
- Complete the "My Info" section.
- Select Start my 2024 Extension return from the main account page to begin the Form 4868 request.
Amended Return (Form 1040X)
- Sign in to your OLT account at www.olt.com.
- Go to your Tax Return Status screen and click on File an Amended Return.
- Complete the interview-style process to update your information.
- OLT will generate Form 1040X and any corrected forms. Note: Amended returns must be printed and mailed; e-filing is not available.
Viewing or Printing Previously Filed Forms
- Log in to your OLT One Account.
- Select the tax year you wish to view.
- Click on View Forms on the summary page for that year.
- You can view, print, or save any of your returns as needed.
Note: If a form is not supported by OLT, you must paper file your return with the IRS. OLT does not support estate tax returns (Form 1041).
