Colorado Historic Property Preservation Credit
The Colorado Historic Property Preservation Credit is designed to encourage the preservation of historic structures within the state. This credit is available to taxpayers who undertake the preservation of a historic structure and meet specific requirements under Colorado Revised Statutes (C.R.S.) ยง39-22-514.5.
Eligibility and Requirements
- Applicants must obtain a certificate from the Office of Economic Development and International Trade (OEDIT), History Colorado, or a local granting authority.
- The credit must be claimed on lines 50 through 52 of Form DR 0104CR.
- Only projects that have received official certification are eligible for the credit.
Claiming the Credit
To claim the Preservation of Historic Structures credit, taxpayers must:
- Submit the certificate from OEDIT, History Colorado, or a local granting authority with their tax return.
- Enter the credit certificate number issued by the certifying authority on line 52 of Form DR 0104CR.
