MO Contributions to Trust Funds

Missouri taxpayers have the opportunity to contribute to various trust funds when filing their state income tax return. These contributions can be made from overpaid tax amounts or through additional payments. The Missouri Department of Revenue (DOR) allows taxpayers to support a range of charitable and public service initiatives through these trust funds.

How to Contribute to Trust Funds

  • Taxpayers may donate part or all of their overpaid tax amount or make additional contributions to any of the trust funds listed on Form MO-1040 or Form MO-1040A.
  • For Form MO-1040, contributions are entered on Line 51, with specific boxes for each fund. For Form MO-1040A, contributions are entered on Line 16.
  • Taxpayers may designate up to two additional trust funds by entering the two-digit code in the provided spaces. For more than two funds, direct contributions must be made to the respective fund.
