Pennsylvania Tax Due Payment Options
When filing your Pennsylvania state income tax return, you may owe taxes that must be paid by the due date. Pennsylvania offers several payment options to help taxpayers meet their obligations. The following outlines the available methods and important details for making your tax payment.
Payment Due Date
Taxpayers are responsible for submitting payment due to the Pennsylvania Department of Revenue by April 15, 2026. This deadline applies to individuals filing Form PA-40, Pennsylvania Individual Income Tax Return.
Payment Methods
- Mail Payment with Form PA-V: If your return shows an amount due, the tax preparation software used by Online Taxes (OLT) will automatically generate Form PA-V (Payment Voucher). You can mail your payment along with this form to the Pennsylvania Department of Revenue.
- Online Payment: Use the online filing system provided by OLT to pay your tax liability electronically. The software guides you through the process and allows you to pay via credit card, debit card, or electronic funds transfer (EFT).
- Direct Payment via Website: Visit the official Pennsylvania Department of Revenue website at https://www.pa.gov to make a payment directly using your credit or debit card, or through EFT.
Important Notes
- Form PA-V is generated automatically by the software if you owe taxes and choose to mail your payment.
- Ensure that your payment is submitted by the due date to avoid penalties and interest.
- For taxpayers who have already entered business income or loss on their federal return, Form PA-40 C may be generated automatically by the software.
