When you select the Refund Transfer (RT) option through Santa Barbara Tax Products Group (SBTPG) via OLT, your tax refund is directed to a temporary account at SBTPG (using Green Dot Bank, Member FDIC). SBTPG deducts their fee ($29.95) and OLT’s service fee ($7.95–$9.95) from your refund before disbursing the remaining amount to you. However, SBTPG cannot provide a status update until they receive and process your application, which only happens after the IRS acknowledges your return and OLT transmits the application to SBTPG.

What to Do If SBTPG Says They Don’t Have Your Refund

  • Check Your Return Status: Log into your OLT return and look for the "Santa Barbara Bank and Trust" link in the Summary page once your return is accepted by the IRS.
  • Visit SBTPG’s Website: Go to https://taxpayer.sbtpg.com/login to check your refund transfer status. You may need to verify your identity.
  • Call SBTPG Directly: Contact them at 1-877-908-7228 for assistance. They can provide updates once your application is received and processed.
  • Wait for Processing: SBTPG will not be able to process your refund transfer until OLT receives IRS acknowledgment and sends the application. Until then, you may see an error message like “information entered does not match our records.”

Important Notes

  • Refund Transfers are not loans and require e-filing and a tax refund to be eligible.
  • The $29.95 bank fee is non-refundable and deducted from your refund upon receipt.
  • If you used a bank product (RT) and received less than expected, you can check details in your SBTPG account or contact the IRS at 1-800-829-1040 for reasons related to refund adjustments.
  • You cannot change payment options after your return is accepted by the IRS.
