Arkansas Payment Options
When filing your Arkansas state income tax return, you have several payment options available. The Arkansas Department of Finance and Administration (DFA) provides various forms to facilitate different payment methods, including electronic payments, mail-in payments, and estimated tax payments. Below are the key forms and instructions for making payments to the state of Arkansas.
1. Payment Voucher (Form AR1000V)
Form AR1000V is used to make a payment when you owe taxes. If your return shows an amount due, the software will automatically generate Form AR1000V with your personal details and the amount owed. You can then choose to mail your payment using this voucher.
2. Estimated Tax Payment (Form AR1000ES)
Form AR1000ES is used for making estimated tax payments throughout the year. This form is particularly useful for individuals who expect to owe taxes and want to pay in installments. You can access this form under the Payment section in the software.
3. Estimated Tax Payment Bank Authorization (Form ARESTPMT)
Form ARESTPMT allows you to authorize direct debit payments for estimated taxes. This form is generated automatically when you enter estimated tax payment details and provide banking information in the software.
4. Electronic Filing Declaration (Form AR8453-OL)
Form AR8453-OL is automatically generated when you choose to e-file your return. It serves as a declaration of agreement between the taxpayer and the e-file provider or paid preparer.
5. Other Payment Options
- Mail-in Payments: Use Form AR1000V to mail your payment to the Arkansas Department of Finance and Administration.
- Direct Debit: Use Form ARESTPMT to set up automatic payments from your bank account.
- Estimated Payments: Use Form AR1000ES to make quarterly estimated tax payments.
