Missouri Payment Options for Individual Income Tax Returns
When filing your Missouri individual income tax return, you have several payment options available to settle any balance due. The Missouri Department of Revenue (DOR) provides multiple methods to ensure taxpayers can meet their obligations conveniently and securely.
Payment Methods Available
- Check or Money Order: You may mail a check or money order payable to the Missouri Department of Revenue. Be sure to write your Social Security Number (SSN) or Employer Identification Number (EIN) on the payment.
- Electronic Payment: Use the online filing system provided by OLT (Online Taxes) to make electronic payments directly from your bank account or credit card. This option is available when filing your return electronically.
- Estimated Tax Payments: If you expect to owe tax, you can make estimated payments using Form MO-1040ES (Individual Paper Return Payment Voucher). This form is used for quarterly estimated tax payments.
- Payment with Extension: If you file for an extension using Form MO-60, you can still make payments toward your tax liability. The amount paid with the extension is reported on Line 41 of Form MO-1040.
